Critical Care Unit
Bothwell Regional Health Center’s Critical Care Unit offers extraordinary care on a continuing basis for patients in a medical or surgical crisis. The unit maintains a 2:1 patient to nurse ratio, and all nurses are specially trained in critical care. A critical care nurse is a licensed professional nurse responsible for ensuring that acutely and critically ill patients and their families receive optimal care.
Immediate family and close personal friends are allowed to visit nearly 24 hours a day at the nurses’ discretion. Visitors are not allowed between 6:30 to 8 a.m. and 6:30 to 8 p.m. Visitors are limited to two people at a time. Bothwell has a direct-line telephone in the Critical Care reception area so family can communicate directly to staff.
