The Bothwell Foundation manages several scholarship funds that create financial opportunities for students and employees pursuing their education in specific health care programs.

Nevin Almquist Physical Therapy Scholarship

Applications due May 26, 2023 (date extended!)

The Nevin Almquist Physical Therapy Scholarship endowment was created by the family of Nevin Almquist, who was a physical therapist at Bothwell from 1967 until his retirement in 2012. This scholarship provides resources for students interested in the physical therapy field as well as current Bothwell physical therapists wishing to receive continuing education or training they need to serve the patients they care for each day.

The Bothwell Foundation offers this scholarship to area physical therapists and physical therapy students. The Nevin Almquist Physical Therapy scholarship is also for those wishing to begin or advance a career in physical therapy or for special training.

Hickman Excellence Award

Applications due May 26, 2023 (date extended!)

The Bothwell Foundation Hickman Excellence Award was established by the friends and family of JaEllen Hickman, a longtime nurse and employee of Bothwell Regional Health Center.

The Bothwell Foundation offers this scholarship to any Bothwell Regional Health Center employee. The Hickman Excellence Award is for training to improve job performance in their Bothwell Regional Health Center career, and can include a certification, seminar, continuing education or any other means of performance improvement.

Pat Gaunt Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship is unavailble in 2023

The Pat Gaunt Nursing Scholarship was created through a bequest from the estate of Patricia Gaunt, who was a registered nurse at Bothwell from 1969 until her retirement in 2001. Her bequest provides resources for other nurses to have the training they need to serve the patients they care for each day.

The Bothwell Foundation offers this scholarship to area nurses and nursing students. The Pat Gaunt Nursing scholarship is for those wishing to begin or advance a career in nursing or for special training.

Medical Career Scholarship

This scholarship is unavailble in 2023

The Bothwell Foundation’s Medical Career Scholarship is offered to graduating high school seniors in Pettis and Benton counties pursuing a degree in a health care-related field.
