Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides food benefits to low-income families to supplement their grocery budget so they can afford nutritious food essential to health and well-being, as well as seeds and plants to grow food. This monthly benefit is loaded to an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card and cannot be withdrawn as cash. The monthly benefit amount depends on income and household size.
