SFCC Nursing Scholarship Program

Get your Nursing (PN and ADN) degree paid for and gain valuable clinical experience at the same time!

Applicants to this program must apply and be accepted into the Practical Nursing and Associate Degree Nursing programs at State Fair Community College.

Download and complete the program application and return it to Human Resources located on the ground floor of the hospital. Applications may also be returned to Megan Elwood at melwood@brhc.org.

To qualify, applicants must earn both a certificate (Year 1) and associate degree (Year 2) in Nursing. If selected, scholarship recipients are required to sign a contractual agreement stipulating that he/she will work at Bothwell Regional Health Center for the required work commitment. If the recipient does not fulfill the work agreement or does not successfully obtain a Missouri licensure, he or she will be required to repay the scholarship funds within an agreed-upon time after completion of the program.

Nurse Residency

Our immersive and individualized Nurse Residency program provides the education, support and guidance you need as a new nurse graduate to transition to your new role. As a nurse resident, you will participate in group seminars, get hands-on clinical experience, develop your critical thinking skills, and use virtual reality simulations to gain knowledge and training beyond what you would learn in a standard orientation program.

Residencies begin two times each year in January and June and last for one year. As a nurse resident your training will be built into your work schedule and you’ll be joined by other nurse residents creating a collaborative environment and opportunities for close relationships.

Who can participate in the program?

  • Graduates from an accredited nursing school with fewer than 12 months of experience as a registered nurse (RN)
  • Have an RN license or a permit to work as a graduate nurse pending licensure with the state of Missouri
  • Bothwell employee either in a full-time or equivalent (PRN) position
