Bothwell Auxiliary recognizes Sue Heckart
The Bothwell Regional Health Center Auxiliary recognized Sue Heckart for her outstanding contributions to the organization at its Christmas Tea on Dec. 11.
Heckart is a longtime member of the Auxiliary Scholarship Committee and has helped strengthen the program through her leadership, experience and ongoing commitment to supporting people pursuing nursing careers.
Shirley Evans, Bothwell Auxiliary Scholarship Committee chair, said Heckart brings valuable expertise to the committee’s work and a passion for helping others begin or advance their professional career in nursing. Heckart also has funded scholarships through the Heckart Family Foundation.
The Auxiliary presented Heckart with a plaque as a token of appreciation. The inscription read, “With our greatest appreciation presented to Sue Heckart in recognition of years of dedicated service and contributions to the Bothwell Regional Health Center Auxiliary.”
Auxiliary members fund the scholarship program by donating their time and talent to support the Gift Shop, special sales and the ice cream social. Since 2003, the Auxiliary has awarded 51 nursing scholarships and two staff scholarships totaling nearly $87,000. The program has grown from awarding one scholarship each year to awarding five scholarships in 2025.
