Family medicine physician joins Bothwell Eldenburg Family Practice

Karstan Luchini, DO

Karstan Luchini, DO, a family medicine physician, has joined Bothwell Eldenburg Family Practice and is now seeing patients.

Luchini earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University in Joplin, Missouri. He brings specialized training in Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) to help patients with pain and muscular dysfunction, as well as a certification in Integrative Medicine, which allows him to combine evidence-based complementary therapies with conventional care. He also has a Master of Business Administration degree that gives him a well-rounded perspective on health care delivery.

The Sedalia-area native said his path to medicine was shaped in part by a personal experience – watching his brother receive cancer treatment as a teenager and witnessing firsthand the impact compassionate health care can have on a family. Later, after college, Luchini had the opportunity to work alongside Dr. Eldenburg, which deepened his commitment to full-spectrum community care.

“The Sedalia area is home for me,” he said. “Being close to family is incredibly important to my wife and me, so having the opportunity to practice medicine right in the community that raised us is a perfect fit.”

Luchini said practicing in Sedalia is about more than medicine and that his approach to care is grounded in preventive wellness, with a belief that nutrition and movement are foundational to good health.

“I am incredibly excited to get re-established in the community,” he said. “Beyond just treating illness, I am looking forward to building meaningful, long-term relationships with my patients and neighbors in Sedalia for many years to come.”

Lori Wightman, Bothwell CEO, said Luchini’s roots in the community and his breadth of training make him a strong addition to the health center.

“Dr. Luchini brings exceptional training and a genuine commitment to this community,” Wightman said. “We are glad to welcome him home and know his patients will benefit from his whole-person approach to care.”

Luchini and his wife are deeply rooted in the community, with family from each side living and working locally. Outside of work, he enjoys golf, gardening, cooking and cheering on the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs and Nebraska football.

Luchini said his combination of specialized training and community ties defines the care he hopes to provide.

“Exceptional family medicine treats the whole person while advocating for the health of the entire community,” he said. “I look forward to offering Bothwell patients comprehensive, forward-thinking care. It is a privilege to return to my home community to support our neighbors in achieving their long-term wellness goals.”
