Special Projects
The Bothwell Foundation’s Special Prospects and Annual Support committees annually review projects that have been identified as priorities for Bothwell Regional Health Center. Because these needs fall outside Bothwell’s operating and capital budgets, they rely on private fundraising. These needs inspire our current fundraising efforts and the successes of past projects made possible through generous community support.
PET/CT Scanner
Every health diagnosis begins with questions, and answers bring hope. Our current fund-raising project is to bring hope to our patients in the form of the next generation of diagnostic technology to our hospital: an on-site Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computed Tomography (CT) scanner.
A PET/CT scanner allows physicians to see inside the body in extraordinary detail, revealing how tissues and organs are functioning. This powerful technology helps detect cancers and cardiac and stroke events earlier, monitor treatment progress and guide more personalized care.
Currently, a mobile PET/CT scanner comes to the hospital just one day a week, which means our patients must wait – wait to have their PET/CT scans and wait for results. We believe they deserve better.
With your support, we are working to raise funds to purchase and install a PET/CT scanner at the hospital. The goal for this campaign is $1.6 million, and your investment toward that goal means:
- Earlier Detection and Better Outcomes: Faster, more accurate imaging leads to more effective treatment plans and improved recovery rates.
- Care Close to Home: Patients can receive advanced diagnostic testing when it’s needed, helping to eliminate scan anxiety while waiting for appointments and results.
- Strengthened Community Health: A PET/CT scanner positions Bothwell as a regional leader in diagnostic medicine, enhancing our ability to attract and retain top medical professionals.
