Bothwell to offer Safe Sitter class

Bothwell Regional Health Center will offer a childcare education course for pre-teens on Saturday, March 25.

Bothwell’s Safe Sitter class is for students in grades 6 through 8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings or babysitting. Students will learn indoor, outdoor, online and personal safety skills; child development and childcare routines, including diapering practice; behavior management and injury prevention and management; choking rescue practices and CPR; as well as the business of babysitting.

Due to space limitations, the deadline to register is March 13. The course is from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and the fee is $35. The class meets in the Bothwell Education Center at 601 E. 14th Street.

For more information or to register, contact the Bothwell Education Center at classes@brhc.org or call 660-827-9516. Parents and their children must read and complete the Safe Sitter Registration Form and Safe Sitter Student Contract to enroll in the course. Other 2023 Safe Sitter courses will be May 20 and Aug. 5.
