Family medicine physician moves to Bothwell 10th Street Clinic in Sedalia

Stephanie Schirding, MD, has joined the medical team at Bothwell 10th Street Clinic in Sedalia, where she is now seeing new and existing patients. Schirding previously saw patients at Bothwell Cole Camp Clinic and continues to provide family medicine and acupuncture services.

Schirding is a United States Air Force veteran who previously served as a staff physician in the Warrior Operational Medicine Clinic at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. She earned her medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, and completed her family medicine residency at Nellis Air Force Base. Originally from Missouri, she and her family live in Sedalia.

In addition to primary care, Schirding offers acupuncture as a treatment option for patients managing pain and other chronic conditions. She trained in acupuncture during her military residency, where the Air Force used it as an alternative to medication for service members who needed to remain on duty.

“As a physician, it is my first priority to ensure the patient’s pain has been fully investigated,” Schirding said. “Once a diagnosis has been reached, acupuncture is often introduced as an option. Patients often leave feeling as though their muscles are more relaxed and pain is often reduced by at least half.”

Schirding provides care for patients of all ages, including preventive visits, chronic disease management and minor procedures.
