Advanced Skin Care, Close to Home: A Message from Dr. Christopher Dallo

As a board-certified dermatologist practicing in Sedalia, I’ve seen firsthand how challenging it can be for individuals in rural communities to access timely, high-quality dermatologic care. My mission is to change that reality by bringing advanced, patient-centered skin care to the people of Sedalia and the surrounding region. 

In rural America, patients often face barriers that delay skin evaluations and treatment—long travel distances, limited specialist availability and a general lack of awareness around skin health. These challenges can lead to late-stage skin cancer diagnoses and worsening of chronic conditions that could otherwise be treated early and effectively. 

That’s why I strongly support both self-referrals from patients and referrals from primary care providers. Whether you’ve noticed a changing mole, a persistent rash or simply want a routine skin check, I welcome you to make an appointment directly. Likewise, I work closely with local providers to ensure their patients can access dermatologic expertise when it’s needed most. Early detection saves lives and having open pathways to care is critical.

My approach to skin care involves topical, systemic and surgical treatments, depending on the condition and the individual needs of the patient:

For chronic and inflammatory skin conditions like eczema, acne and psoriasis, both topical and systemic treatments are utilized. These include prescription creams, corticosteroids, immunotherapy and other targeted therapies designed to provide relief and safely manage flare-ups.

For suspicious lesions or confirmed skin cancers, surgical care is often required. While I do not currently perform Mohs surgery in Sedalia, I offer biopsy and excisional procedures that follow gold-standard dermatologic surgical principles. My goal is always to remove skin cancers with clear margins, while using closure techniques that minimize scarring and promote ideal cosmetic outcomes.

Whether treating a benign growth or a more serious lesion, I aim to provide the highest level of surgical precision and post-procedure care.
