Applications now being accepted for Medical Explorers program

Applications are now being accepted for the next Medical Explorers program sponsored by Bothwell Regional Health Center and the Learning for Life program of the Boy Scouts of America, Ozark Trail Post #75.

Medical Explorers is a health care exploration program open to students who reside in Pettis or Benton counties currently in their junior or senior year of high school.

Beth Everts is Bothwell’s Director of Physician and Advanced Practice Recruitment and serves as the advisor for Medical Explorers. She said the program is an ideal entry point for students interested in health care careers, as well as those who aren’t sure if health care is the right fit for them.

“It’s really about job exploration in a hands-on environment,” Everts said. “Students will get to personally hear from many of our health care professionals and what their jobs look like on a daily basis. They will rotate through various hospital units, departments and out-patient clinics and have opportunities to try their hands with some medical procedures.”

The program will begin in January 2023, and application deadline is 5 pm Oct. 28. Cost for the program is $62, which will be collected after the selection process.
