Physician Assistant joins Bothwell Orthopedics and Sports Medicine

Cade Chiles, a certified physician assistant (PA), has joined Bothwell Orthopedics and Sports Medicine and is now seeing patients in the clinic and assisting in surgery.
A Warsaw native, Chiles earned a bachelor’s degree in Health Science from the University of Missouri in Columbia and recently completed a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from South University in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.
Chiles said he was drawn to the physician assistant profession because of its flexibility across specialties and its collaborative nature.
“Throughout my time in PA school, I was able to explore different specialties, which ultimately grew my passion for a career in orthopedics,” he said. “The profession also allows me to work closely with physicians and other health care providers in a team environment, which is how I believe the best patient care happens.”
At Bothwell, Chiles divides his time between the clinic and operating room, where he sees patients and assists in surgeries for orthopedic injuries and conditions.
“While I have a particular interest in hip and knee pathology, I enjoy the variety of orthopedics and will be treating conditions involving all areas of the body,” he said.
Marvin Smoot, Bothwell’s Clinic Operations vice president, said Chiles brings a strong educational foundation, a personal connection to the region and a passion for helping people get back to doing what they love.
“Cade is a great addition to our orthopedic team,” he said. “He’s committed to whole-patient care and understands the impact that timely, expert treatment can have on a person’s mobility and quality of life. We’re excited to welcome him back to the area.”
Chiles said growing up in a small town made him appreciate the importance of local health care.
“I was especially drawn to Bothwell because of the welcoming culture and the chance to serve a rural community,” he said. “I believe in caring for the whole patient, not just the injury. That includes treatment, education and prevention to help people recover fully and reduce future problems.”
At Bothwell Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Chiles joins Dr. Kelly Edwards, Dr. Douglas Kiburz, Dr. Evan Stout and Physician Assistant Lindsey Edwards. The clinic is located on the third floor of the Healing Arts Center; for more information or to schedule an appointment, call the clinic at 660.826.5890 or Centralized Scheduling at 660.829.8888.
