Cardiac Rehabilitation is a four-phase, medically supervised exercise therapy program designed to help you return to a productive life by improving your health through physical activity.
The Cardiac Rehab program uses a multi-disciplinary approach of structured, progressive physical activity, administered by trained therapists and nurses. You and your family members are educated about recognizing, preventing and treating cardiovascular disease.
Special emphasis is placed on modifying risk factors and recovering from the physical and psychosocial aspects of heart disease.
Outpatient cardiac rehabilitation is for patients who have been diagnosed with heart disease, including those who have suffered a heart attack or had heart surgery. Another phase of the program is applicable to those with cardiovascular risk factors, but who haven’t necessarily been diagnosed with heart disease, including spouses of patients.
