Neurodiagnostics

Bothwell Regional Health Center offers a full range of neurological diagnostic services. Neurology is the medical science of the nervous system and its disorders. Diagnostic testing is usually the first step in identifying neurological disorders.

Neurodiagnostic services include an electroencephalogram, or EEG, a test that measures and records the electrical activity of your brain. An EEG often helps our providers detect certain conditions, such as seizures, based on the changes in the normal pattern of the brain’s electrical activity.

Bothwell also offers electromyograms, or EMGs, which measure the electrical impulses of muscles, and nerve conduction studies, which measure the movement of an impulse through a nerve after the deliberate stimulation of the nerve. You can also be tested for auditory brain wave responses to sounds and for visual responses to test patterns. In addition, providers can test the nerves in your arms and legs through stimulation by an electrical pulse.
